Candles and angels

Angels and candles

What makes them click

Like they were home

To each other?

Burning candle

Are beacon to angels

Cherubims and likes they come

For thy rescue or counsel

Should you burn candles

In flames of will and choice

From a truly yearning heart

Praying at any moment

Go ahead and burn candle

They bring you home

To your inner sacred space

Where angels do reside

At One with thee always

The ego surely has every way

To ambush your psyche

Like bandits waiting to waylay thee

It comes with thunderbolts

Of thoughts so dark and gloom

They’d make you depart

From your sublime humanity

Such as to make you wallow

In dirty cesspools

Of arrogance and hubris

Large may the pool be

Yet dirty is it as ever

Arrogance and hubris won’t ever

Pay enough and won’t reward thee

Save but to sink thee

Deeper in murky waters of evils

Such darkness will come back

Upon thee when most unexpected

Like a boomerang gleefully flying

To return to its own thrower

Few have heart for the out-migrant

Few recognize the grinding hardships faced

In strange lands

Few sympathize yet so many beg

For the migrant’s gift when home

S/he comes –the rich person

Overnight. Overnight is saved money

Sucked too by bloodsucking kins

And neighbors and all.

Never mind the possible abuses

Or racist exploitations encountered

The compatriots surely have heart

When the migrant gives, when

And only when wine flows

And songs are sung upon arrival, when

Home is filled up by multitudes

Home is fiesta’s venue everyday!

The migrant’s absence makes people

Caricature him/her and kins

As a malignant felon.

No, nobody sympathizes with the migrant

Just wait till s/he arrives, when

The sky showers with Imeldific graces

Happy are kins and friends

Happy is government too

Happy is the merchant

Happy is everyone but

The migrant.

Tire not, o! sweet mother of mine!

You can never go tired and dreary

Your dawning has yet to show up

Your longevity a million revolutions of Earth yet.

You have travelled too long indeed to make

Your children secured in this world

And abode of monstrous traps

Where unprepared initiates like helpless tots

And teens may unwarily step in undone

In life. You were a shield indeed

Moreso a loving nurturing voice

Of a zillion angels all

A Joan o’Arc for your children.

You cannot tire now

Long will be your pathways yet

And you are already enshrined

In our hearts, beknighted lady.
